═══ 1. About ═══ Information about LAN Administrator and Armadillo Software ═══ 1.1. About Armadillo Software ═══ Armadillo Software Armadillo Software P.O. Box 2249 Portales, NM 88130 (505) 683-5302 OS/2 BBS: DEV4793 CompuServe: 70612,1446 Internet: Brunsene@email.enmu.edu Armadilo CForum (on IBM OS/2 BBS) ═══ 1.2. About LAN Administrator ═══ LAN Administrator LAN Administrator version 1.2 сeta copyright 1993, Wm. Eric Brunsen Armadillo Software P.O. Box 2249 Portales, NM 88130 (505) 683-5302 ═══ 1.3. About Registration ═══ This copy of LAN Administrator is a demonstration copy. It is fully functional and does not employ any 'crippling' or 'annoying' gimmicks. This version is slower than the Registered version because it uses 16bit REXX and the OS/2 LAN Server command-line interface rather than the Network APIs. The registered version (in production now) will be a 32 bit program that uses the Network API's and is therefore much faster. The registered version will also have some additional features that are not available with the demonstration version, due to being accessible only through the APIs (Network User Logon Assignments are one example). The registered version will also contain fewer 'support files' (.ico, .bmp, etc.) so it will be easier to manange. LAN Administrator is planned to grow in three major steps (with patches and fixes as needed). These steps are: 1. Release of this demonstration version 2. Release of an 'intermediate' version that will be a full 32bit OS/2 Application (still utilizing the OS/2 LAN Server command-line interface). (expected March/April 1994) 3. Release of 32bit program utilizing the OS/2 LAN Server 3.0 APIs. (expected June/July 1994). What does registration gain you: 1. A licensed copy of LAN Administrator 2. Technical support on the Armadilo CForum on the IBM OS/2 BBS (accessible via IBMLink or TalkLink) 3. Upgrade and fix notification 4. Copies of both the intermediate and final 'production' versions of LAN Administrator. 5. The chance for input on features and/or functionality of the final product. Registration cost: $150.00 per license. How does the licensing work: In order to be fair to the small businesses and universities, the license is somewhat on the honor system. You purchase the number of licenses that you feel you are using. In other words, how many copies would you expect your company to buy if the program belonged to you. If one Network Administrator uses LAN Administrator as a regular part of his duties, and another user uses it on an infrequent basis (say less than once a week), then only one copy needs to be purchased. If you have three users that use it on a moderate basis, then you would need 2 licenses. For companies wanting a site license/multi-user licensing, please contact Armadilo Software at one of the addresses in the About Armadillo Software section of either the Online documentation. How do I register: Fill out the following registration form, and send it along with your check, money order, or company p.o. to: Armadillo Software P.O.
